Spring Hill Intermediate introduced its new Roxy Room yesterday. The Roxy Room is a sensory room with special lighting, colors, sounds, and objects. The soothing items in the room are designed to give students a variety of sensory inputs, helping them calm and focus themselves so they are better prepared for learning.
The Roxy Room at Spring Hill Intermediate was a donation from The Roxy Room Project, a non-profit organization.
"Spring Hill teacher Lara Manasse saw the development and success of the Roxy Room at another area school and applied for the grant hoping to provide a sensory space for our students at Spring Hill,” said Intermediate Principal Dana Robertson. “We were excited to learn that we received the grant for the Roxy Room!"
