Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, a new Texas law (House Bill 1481) requires school districts to prohibit students from using personal communication devices during the school day. In compliance with HB 1481, Spring Hill ISD will require all student personal communication devices to be powered off and stored inside backpacks from the moment students enter the school building/facility until the final dismissal bell of the day.
Personal communication devices include, but are not limited to:
- Cell phones
- Smart Watches
- Laptop Computers and Tablet Computers
- Bluetooth Headphones and Earbuds
- Pagers
- Any wearable technology that is capable of digital communication or telecommunication
- Any personal communication device not issued by SHISD
