Spring Hill Current Weather

Spring Hill ISD installed a Perry Weather monitoring and warning system in 2026. This on-site weather station provides real-time data on local weather conditions and alerts staff to potential weather-related risks.

“This technology enhances safety measures for outdoor activities, ensures timely and informed decision-making, and integrates with our existing safety protocols,” said SHISD Director of School Safety David Lynch.

The weather station is equipped with a siren, strobe lights, and speakers. It is set up to give an audible and visual alert when there is a lightning strike within 10 miles of the campus.
  • When lightning is detected there is a 10 second siren and the strobe light on the weather station will start to blink.
  • UIL rules require all outdoor sports activity be paused until the area is lightning free for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes with no lightning activity, the all clear signal will go off with 3 short sirens.
