One of the Strategic Priorities set forth by Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath is to Connect High School to Career and College. To achieve this, Spring Hill ISD is offering sequences of elective courses, referred to as Programs of Study. These Programs of Study are aligned with regional labor market information, and lay the foundation for students to pursue high skill, high demand, and high wage occupations. The Texas Education Agency defines each of these areas as:


High Skill - requiring a postsecondary certificate, 2-year degree, or 4-year degree

High Wage - greater than the state median annual salary of $37,099

High Demand - projected growth greater than 15%


Longview and Gregg County are part of the East Texas Workforce Development area, along with the other counties shown in the map below. The labor market information posted on this page is specific to this area of the state.
